BOTOX/Dysport
What to expect
Both Botox and Dysport are neurotoxin injections used for cosmetic purposes to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. During your appointment, I will assess your facial muscles and discuss your aesthetic goals with you. Then I will administer the injections into specific muscles. The procedure typically takes around 10-15 minutes. Afterward, you can resume your normal activities immediately, although you may be advised to avoid strenuous exercise and lying down for a short period.
Benefits
For Wrinkles: Botox and Dysport work by temporarily paralyzing or relaxing muscles, which smoothens out wrinkles and fine lines, particularly those caused by repetitive muscle movements like smiling or squinting.
Lip Flip: By injecting Botox or Dysport into the muscles around the lips, it's possible to achieve a subtle "lip flip," where the upper lip is slightly turned upward, creating a fuller appearance without the need for dermal fillers.
TMJ Jaw Slimming: Botox or Dysport injections can be used to relax the masseter muscles in the jaw, reducing their size and creating a slimmer jawline. This treatment can also alleviate symptoms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder, such as jaw pain and teeth grinding.
Nose Tip and Nares: Injections of Botox or Dysport can be strategically placed around the nose to lift the tip or reduce the appearance of nostril flaring, providing subtle yet effective improvements to the overall appearance of the nose.
How long do results last?
The duration of results can vary depending on factors such as the individual's metabolism, the dosage administered, and the treated area.
In general:
Botox - Results typically last around 3-4 months, after which muscle activity gradually returns, and wrinkles may reappear. With repeated treatments, some individuals may experience longer-lasting results.
Dysport - Results may become noticeable within a few days of treatment and can last for approximately 3-6 months. Like Botox, repeat injections are usually necessary to maintain the desired effects over time.
